It all started with this company called Cyberwings. It's actually a pretty funny story. At the time Cyberwings (now very much defunct) was offering a special where you could get a ton of webspace and bandwidth for unbelievably cheap, somewhere on the order of $4 per YEAR for 200 megs of space. Anyway, it turned out to basically be a major scam and the "owner" ran off, but the result was that, I"m sure many many people like me finally actually jumped into the world of having our own website.
I got domain names for all of us in the family but because of the different space requirements I got a reseller account, which means that I have a master account which I can provision out space as each website requires it. It gives me the flexability to have virtually an unlimited number of websites in my account. So if you want a website, just get a domain name and let me know and I can set you up for a couple bucks.
I used Dixiesys for a while, but am now at BGFweb.com because it's cheaper.
